This rating has two parts, one for the seller and one for the product. The seller did fine and would get 5 stars.

The product, a replacement battery for my LENOVO Z565 laptop is another story. The description did not state that it would meet or exceed OEM specs, so I just assumed it did (logically, if it did not it would not be a replacement battery).

Immediately after installation of the replacement battery, my computer started to exhibit strange behavior, as follows:

1. Upon waking up from hibernation mode, the Safe Mode screen was displayed

2. The Power Management utility was behaving erratically. It took several attempts to get the Optimize Battery Life function to work (to stop charging the battery at 80% battery capacity).

3. Occasionally, I got Battery Capacity readings of 4 hours 30 minutes, when max capacity is about 2 hours 30 minutes.

4. At another occasion the battery indicator showed nearly depleted battery. Upon plugging in the charger, the battery went to Fully Carged in 19 minutes, according to the battery indicator.

I am not saying the these problems are caused by the replacement battery.

I am not saying the seller is at fault; the seller does not make the batteries.

I am still trying to identify the root causes behind these "anomalies".

But I will say this: If you need to buy a replacement battery, make sure the advertisement states the battery meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
