This battery is bigger than the stock battery. It raises the "backside" of the laptop up about the same as if you set the laptop on a roll of pennies. This gives the fan ample room for airflow, which is important. Also, the battery has quite the lifespan. With the battery fully charged, I was able to skype for 4 hours (on WiFi, not an Ethernet connection) before the first low battery warning alarm went off, and even then I still had about half an hour of charge remaining. Impressive considering the stock battery never lasted more than 2.5 hours. After about a month of usage, I have zero complaints.

YMMV, but I have modified my computer's power settings enhance the laptop's performance, so if I left the power settings alone, and chose the extended battery life option, I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 hours out of this battery.

This battery does make the laptop slightly heavier, but the additional weight is roughly equal to 3 or 4 rolls of pennies, so it's not that bad.

All in all, couldn't be happier with this battery!
