I own a 1005HAB that runs on xp. The only issue I had with my current EeePC was the battery length. It came with a 3-cell battery that sometimes only lasted an hour and a half with SIMPLE tasks like Instant Messaging or writing in a Word program. I was taking a trip with a 9 hour plane ride and had work to do on the way to my destination, so I decided to grab this 9-cell with the hopes that battery power wouldn't be an issue anymore.

I have tested this battery for a week now, both on and off my flight. This battery lasts around 11 or 12 hours if you aren't doing much with your computer (simple tasks like running Word and the like), and even when watching movies or playing games it lasts an impressive 8 or 9 hours. This was all tested using MAX BATTERY settings on Windows as well as POWER SAVING mode on SuperhybridEngine that comes pre-installed by asus. So those numbers very well could vary if you are using this battery and a different Operating System or power mode.

The other thing worth mentioning is the bulk of this battery. I don't mind it too much, but WHERE they put the bulk is kind of lame in my opinion. They let the extra cells hang DOWN so that it elevates the back end of your laptop just a bit, and sometimes when its resting in my lap it feels odd having that extra strip of weight. I would have preferred if the bulk went out the back of the laptop (as larger batteries did on the 1000 series) but the way the screen tilts on this series of netbooks prevents that. In the end its not that big of a deal, but it does add good quarter of an inch below the old rubber feet on the laptop. That and it's obviously a little heavier, but compare the weight of a netbook with this batter and a full sized laptop and you still have a WAYS to go before it could even remotely be considered heavy. The plus side of the bulk is that you have a little bit more to grip when you carry the laptop from place to place.

All in all, this battery was worth the purchase. It works and really delivers beyond what I was expecting it to. If you are upgrading from a 3-cell it really makes a MASSIVE difference.
