This battery is only slightly thicker than the default that came with my Dell Inspiron 700m, but has twice the charge capacity. On a full charge, it will last 5 hours. And I ran it down all the way to make sure it wasn't some mistaken calculation by Vista. It really lasted 5 hours of usage (no DVD activity), not just sitting idle. Very pleased with this battery and may buy another soon.

The problem is that this battery is a pure replacement not made by dell and when put into your laptop the charging battery light will start to blink. This means that the laptop is plugged in, but is not charging the battery. There are some tricks to make it work, but after a few minutes it will go back to not charging.
