Asus N53SV-XE1 Tech Rover™ Max-Life Series 9-Cell [High-Capacity] Replacement Battery Review

The battery is designed to have 72.6Wh but never actually reaches this value. In first recharge, it got 96%. I left the battery fully empty about 6~8hours outsite from notebook and I was recharge it again.

Surprise: the maximum capacity is now 94%. In fact, it has a good duration (4~5h) in constant and normal use, like using internet, text editing and bluetooth always on. I believe if I turn off all unused things like wifi, bluetooth, external mouse, and turn on conservative mode for processor, it will more efficient.

But i'm disapointed with relation designed energy versus energy when full for first use.

I was a little suspicious that this replacement battery for my P-6831FX was so much cheaper than all the others. I swallowed hard and took a chance and bought two. They arrived in about 2 days at no extra cost-- just plain good, quick service. When they arrived, I opened one of the very well-packed boxes and my face dropped. This battery clearly did not look like my original battery-- it was much smaller! I thought I had been duped! Still, the connectors seemed to match up to my computer, so I gave it a try and I WAS SHOCKED to see that the battery did indeed fit! The amazing thing is that the original battery for this laptop has the hated characteristic of awkwardly protruding from the back. My new replacement battery does not!! Not only that, but the new battery is much lighter, too. Bottom line is that not only was the price amazing, but I actually enjoyed more bang for the buck. My only suggestion is that the website should MARKET that this replacement battery eliminates the protrusion and reduces the weight-- both are qualities that we owners wish didn't exist. Anyway, thanks for great experience. I will recommend you to my friends who also have this computer.

While I was a bit worried about buy a battery cheaper than OEM (this is much cheaper) I found that the price point allowed me to take a risk.

This battery (I have two similar ones, but for different computers, from the same manufacturer) is relatively comparable to the OEM battery. It seems to power the computer for about 25% less time than the OEM, but several weeks after getting both of them, I found apage of instructions (detailed) about how to best condition and use the batteries the first few cycles. Had I seen these instructions and used them, I might have had a longer battery life.

At the price, though (given that these computers are 4 and 6 years old) they have been great!

Note that the original rubber covering will not be present. It will either be a slick hard plastic, or it will be a soft-textured hard plastic, with rubber feet that are smaller (and less likely to fall off) than the OEM.
