As a ham radio operator, I occasionally use my Yaesu FT-60R VHF/UHF handheld transceiver, especially when traveling. The original battery pack included with the FT-60R was a NiMH. The addition of this higher-capacity Lithium-Ion pack increases the operational time considerably. You will need to purchase a Lithium Ion-capable charger, such as the Vertex Standard VAC-810, but it's well worth it.
