My old laptop battery used to last for about 3 hours off the plug, but more recently it only lasted no longer than 15 minutes. I looked into buying an original battery, but the prices were a little steep up to $180 for an OEM item. So I decided to take a risk. I originally had misgivings that it may not work especially after all the talk about the BIOS and the laptop not accepting generic batteries. Fortunately this battery worked perfectly. I did not need to do anything beyond putting it in. Just to be picky, my only critique is that the latch on the back of the battery needs to be pushed in back before inserting it into the laptop. It will not slide in and click like the OEM model. For those big on aesthetics, the texture of the battery is slightly different and the material is slightly cheaper feeling. Personally, it really doesn't matter to me since it is black and on the bottom of the laptop. I have not fully tested the battery's life off the plug since I just tested it a day ago, but I will update as soon as I am able to test it. Overall, great so far.
